THE PROJECT

Timeless Homes is a project born from the desire to recover and restore continuity to family homes dating back to ancient times, passed down through generations and forming an integral part of the historical heritage of the territory.

These are residences rooted in the historic quarter of Cucureddu, the medieval nucleus of Lotzorai: a network of narrow lanes, courtyards and small stone streets that preserve the slow rhythm and original character of the village. Authentic places that tell a story still very much alive.

ORIGINS and
CONTINUITY

These homes have crossed centuries without losing their identity. The Timeless Homes project stems from the intention to preserve them in their authenticity, respecting the techniques, materials and proportions that define their character.

Restoring continuity means allowing these houses to remain alive in the present, maintaining the connection with the lives that have inhabited them over time. It is a form of active memory, one that does not look at the past with nostalgia, but integrates it with awareness.

RESTORATION AND APPROACH

The restoration of the Timeless Homes residences is an exercise in balance between historical memory and contemporary comfort. The interventions were precise and respectful, strengthening walls, load-bearing beams and traditional ceilings made of reeds and juniper, while preserving the original features.

During the works, ancient construction techniques emerged, such as the ladiri system – walls made of layers of raw earth and straw left to dry in the sun – typical of medieval Sardinia. These techniques were integrated with compatible materials, ensuring solidity and functionality without altering the appearance and nature of the structures.

CIVIC VALUE
AND TERRITORY

Beyond the family connection, Timeless Homes is also rooted in a civic awareness: preserving and enhancing small villages and historic centres in Sardinia, offering an idea of hospitality that is attentive to history and context.

Family heritage and responsibility towards the community intertwine in a single path, restoring vitality to places that continue to speak to the present and deserve to be lived with respect.

A project
IN EVOLUTION

The first home restored through this project is Le Pavoncelle.
The journey continues with the restoration of a second historic residence, Le Due Corti, dating back to an even earlier period, around the year 1000.

Each intervention follows the same principle: reinforcing where necessary, recovering what can be preserved and maintaining the original identity, continuing to tell the story of the neighbourhood and of our family.
